01.07.09: ANGUS CHAMPIONSHIPS - Good news from Monday & Tuesday's ties in the semi finals of this years Angus Championships. Vince Stewart (Singles) and our rink (Greig Mackie, Robert Walker, Angus Cossans & Tony Hume) both won through and will play in the finals at Newgate this coming Friday. Unfortunately, Craig Stewart lost out in the Junior Singles and our Senior Four were defeated also. Congratulations to our winners and good luck to all five for the finals on Friday.
03.07.09: ANGUS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009 - Mixed news from Newgate BC where the finals of this years Angus Championships were taking place this evening. Vince Stewart won the Angus Singles, beating Colin Stott of Brechin BC 21-17. The fours however, lost 18-6 to their opponents from Letham BC. Congratulations to Vince, who has now won the Angus Singles twice in 3 years, and commiserations to our fours team, who almost made it 2 in-a-row.
06.07.09: ANGUS TOP TEN - The team for our opening match in this years competition against Fairfield at home on Tuesday 14th July has been picked the team is as follows:

Reserves: K.Brunton, R.Brannan & S.Jeans06.07.09: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - This years Club Championship has reached the semi-final stage, In the first semi it is Jim Irving taking on David Briggs, with both guys looking to reach the final for the first time. This match is being played Tuesday 7th July at 6pm. In the second semi we have the defending champ Ian Ringsell taking on Ali Strachan who is looking to reach the final for the first time. This match is being played Friday 10th July at 6pm. Both match's have the makings of great games so come along and give all the players support. Good luck to all four gents for their respective matches.
07.07.09: CITY OF DUNDEE UNDER 35'S - Our Craigie representative, David Briggs, won again last night at Hillcrest to continue his fine form and progress through to the semi-finals of this year's City Junior Singles. We understand David will now play Paul Lindsay from Baxter Park at Fairfield BC in the semis on Thursday. Well done and good luck to David for his next match.
09.07.09: CITY OF DUNDEE UNDER 35'S - David Briggs lost by 21 shots to 20 against Baxter Park's Paul Lindsay at the semi-final stage of this years City of Dundee Junior Singles competition which took place at Fairfield BC this evening. A fantastic effort from David, against a player who has been in superb form in singles play over the last 12 months.
10.07.09: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - This years Club Championship Final, which will take place on Friday 17th July, will be contested between Ali Strachan & David Briggs. Both players will be appearing in their first Championship final. Ali took his place in the final following his 21-8 victory over defending champion Ian Ringsell on Friday evening, whilst David secured his final spot on Tuesday with a 21-14 victory against Jim Irving. Best of luck to both players.
13.07.09: NOMINATED PAIRS - This years Nominated Pairs has reached the semi-final stage. In the first semi its the team of Kenny Penman & Scott Brown taking on Ally Thomson and Stuart Jeans. This match is taking place Wedensday 15th July at 6pm. In the second semi we have the team of J.T. Murray & Jim Davie taking on Robert Walker & Vince Stewart. This match is taking place Monday 20th July. Both matches have the making to be great games so come along and give support to all the teams. Good luck to all four teams for their Matches.

15.07.09: ANGUS TOP TEN - Unfortunately, our team lost out to Fairfield in the opening round of this year's Angus Top Ten. The match score was Craigie 2 Fairfield 6 with Vince Stewart gaining the points for Craigie with his win over John Taylor in the singles.
18.07.09: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - The final of this year's Club Championship was played last night. The match was contested by David Briggs & Ali Strachan. In very wet and trying conditions for both players it was David who ran out the eventual winner 21-17, to win the Championship for the first time. Congratulations to David, commiserations to Ali.
20.07.09: ANGUS TOP FIVE - Our 1st round match is away to Kirriemuir on Friday July 24th. The team that has been picked for this match is as follows.

Ian Ringsell still leads the way, with Ali Strachan and new club champ David Briggs in second and third spots respectively. 25.07.09: ANGUS TOP FIVE - Our team of five singles players recorded an excellent 4-1 win away at Kirriemuir in the first round of this new competition. Well done to all the lads on a great win away from home. In the second round we have a home tie against Lochee on Sunday 9th August at 2pm.
28.07.09: ANGUS TOP FIVE - There is one enforced change to the team who will contest the next round of The Top 5 against Lochee BC at Craigie. Vince Stewart is unavailable and his place is taken by George Gray with Scott Brown named as reserve.
29.07.09: NOMINATED PAIRS - After a slight delay, the final of this year's premier Craigie pairs competition takes place this coming Friday, 31st July. The finalists are Vince Stewart and Robert Walker who take on Scott Brown and Kenny Penman. A great match is anticipated and we wish good luck to both teams for the final. NB. Any potential spectators should note that, due to the sold-out cabaret at the club on Friday night, this final will start early, at around 5pm.
30.07.09: SBA DISTRICT 4 OPEN MEETING - The date and venue has been advised of the next open meeting for all male District 4 bowlers and we are pleased to advise that Craigie has been chosen as the venue on Sunday 30th August. SBA District 4 Councillor Robert (Bob) Christie will chair the meeting and all bowling club members from the Angus area, whether committee members or ordinary members, are invited to attend. The meeting will start at 10:30am and dress code is advised as casual.
